About Dissb

This blog is designed with the intention of helping you, the gamer, who don’t have the time or desire to sink countless hours in a game, yet want to be competitive in PVP.  I plan on sharing what goes on in my mind during actual gameplay through narrative playbacks, as well as writing blogs regarding tips and tricks to improve your character. I will focus on very important class and non-class specific mechanics, such as crafting, the use of potions, positioning, etc.  And of course as a successful Wall Street trader, I plan on writing various tips on how to make money via the Auction House.

As far as me, I have been an avid gamer as far back as I can remember.  I am 38 years old now, so at a minimum have had 20+ years of online gaming.  I do not consider myself the best in any game, but rather a top tier player that thinks outside the box when it comes to online PVP gaming.

I began with a MUD game called Gemstone III in 1993 and had a wizard named Dissipate Breathstealer.  As I got into new games, it was apparent that I needed a unique name, hence Dissb.

In my mid 20’s, I acquired a job on the Pacific Stock Exchange trading floor as a clerk.  I quickly learned the ropes, got my licenses and was a full on trader in the stock market within a couple years.  I realized the stock market was a game just like any others I had played.  You learn the rules and the tools of the game and go to work.  I went on an absolute tear and was invited to become a partner of my firm at 31 years old, youngest one at the time.  The most astonishing part was, I did this working maybe a total of 1 hour a day, and devoted the rest of the day to playing video games.  As ludicrous as it may sound, I attribute my success in the stock market to playing video games.

A few of my accomplishments are listed below:

  • #1 All-Time Fame Gemstone III
  • 10,000+ team played games in Starcraft with a 90% win ratio, Top 10 Ladder
  • 10,000+ team played games in Warcraft 3, with a 90% win ratio, ranked #1 in 3’s and 4’s Arranged Teams.
  • #1 Battlefield 2, first 6 months of release
  • #1 All-Time kills in Warhammer for first 2 years, over 150,000 kills
  • Over 225,000 kills in Rift

Dissipate. Now there’s a blast from the past.

  2. Corky says:

Wow, Gemstone 3. When I quit that, I think “Jesh” was the highest fame guy.

    I miss that game.

    • dissb says:

Wow, I totally remember him! Yeah, that game was alot of fun, people actually respected the elders and if ya talked in OOC, ya got beat up!

      • Corky says:

Yup. If you were a noobie and you acted up, you got “thumped” by any of the Lords/Ladies and couldn’t talk or do anything for 5 minutes or something, haha. I once created a guy named “Toothbrush” just to be an OOC jerk. I got a lot of glares in Wehnimer’s Landing until the GM’s threw me in limbo to force a name change. Only took ‘em 5 minutes. They didn’t screw around in that game!

hey dissb love ur videos. which shard has a high percentage of warfront wins? What about the shard youre in?

    • dissb says:

From my experience I feel Guardians win 75% of the time. However, from what I hear and have been told it sounds like Defiant wins 75% of the time. We are in a group with 6 different shards and I think Seastone and Sunrest have the best individual players. What is your experience?

      • ub3rlokz says:

i am in the Briarcliff shard and us Guardians win about 40-50% of the time. It kind of varies on the part of day (Day, evening, night). I came from Deepstrike and let me tell you Defiants on that shard win about 95% of the time. So Guardians on the Sunrest shard have about a 75% win rate? Sounds pretty good.

        • dissb says:

Like I said earlier, the ones I am in we win 75%. I think it would be fair to say I usually make a difference in the warfront outcomes.

lol same here,it is a small world dissb ,we were fighting Marvolo an crew +knights of white wolf / Acolytes etc back in Obliteration in Warhammer ( Pyroblast 80bwiz Pyreblast 80engi pt than gorfang ) now the same crews are over here on rift..so sunrest imo is fun..an ya i win at least 75% if not more over here ( but i also own), there are ALOT of defiant on sunrest but they are SO Unorganized ,i wish someone would get a rank 8 premade going an in vent or w.e an we could have so much fun like in warhammer galadar popping sheild on your bwiz an we mow 6vs20..in rift it would be much more ( like 10 rank 8s, in vent, could take on 40+ of these defiant) these defiant feel safe rome freely an an need romped..come to sunrest (guardians)! an if wanna duo que im down your 75% an my 75% = 100% wins for us if your down..

Unfortunately we rarely got a chance to showcase our ORVR skills as a guild. I am confused, how many toons do you have?
